Process

Seven steps. Zero mystery.

You always know what comes next and what it costs.

New build, remodel, furnishings or commercial, the path is the same. It was written by people who have run construction sites, which is why it has dates and numbers in it.

  1. Consultation

We meet at the studio or on site, talk about how you live, and agree on scope and an ideal budget before any design work begins. Standard Nº 3.

  2. Design engagement

A design fee starts the work. For full service projects it is the initial retainer and is applied as the project moves forward.

  3. The design plan

Space planning, drawings, mood boards and renderings as the project calls for, finish selections and specifications. Two revision rounds included, so the plan is yours before it is priced.

  4. Selections and proposal

Finishes confirmed in the showroom, in person, in daylight. One itemized proposal covering product, design and installation.

  5. Ordering and delivery

Trade accounts, lead times confirmed, and a delivery plan set with you and your builder in advance.

  6. Installation

Our own installation team sets the cabinetry, stone, fixtures and finishes we specified. The person who drew it can walk the job.

  7. The reveal

Broom clean, styled, and walked room by room against the renderings you approved. Manufacturer warranties pass through to you. Seven is the number of completeness, and this is the step where you feel it.

The Seven Standards

The seven standards, in writing.

Nº 1

SeenYou see it before we order it.

A mood board, a drawing, a rendering: the level the decision deserves. Nobody approves a description of a room. You approve the room.

Nº 2

WholeOne studio, start to finish.

Design, product and installation from one address, on one proposal. No handoffs, because every handoff is a place where the idea gets lost.

Nº 3

CandidThe budget is a design decision.

Scope and an ideal number are agreed before the first sketch, and we design to them. We tell you the truth about what things cost and what materials do.

Nº 4

IntentionalNothing arrives by accident.

Every selection has a reason you could repeat to a friend. If a piece does not earn its place in the room, it does not get one.

Nº 5

RootedBuilt for here.

Sun almost every day, dry air, hard water, altitude. If it will not survive New Mexico, it does not go in. If it belongs here, it belongs in the plan.

Nº 6

PresentWe are in the room.

At the consultation, in the showroom, on the job. The person who drew it can walk it, and the crew that sets it works for us.

Nº 7

CompleteFinished means finished.

Walked room by room against the plan you approved, broom clean, warranties in hand, nothing left for you to chase. Seven is the number of completeness. This is why.
