The Last Layer

Everything you touch.

A house can be finished and still not be done. Furniture, lighting, rugs, mirrors, window coverings and art are the layer you live with every day, and the layer most people run out of energy for. We do not.

What we furnish

Homes we designed, and homes that were never quite finished. Sofas, tables, beds, case goods, rugs, lamps and chandeliers, window coverings, mirrors, fireplace mantels and art, from trade sources and custom workrooms.

How it arrives

On a furniture plan you have seen, in a rendering you have approved, on a delivery day we scheduled. Received, placed and styled by our team.

Rº7 field notes

The last layer, decoded.

Field Note Nº 1

Scale first, style second.

The right sofa in the wrong size is the wrong sofa. We plan every room to the inch before we fall in love with anything.

Field Note Nº 2

Light is furniture.

Lamps and sconces do more for a room at night than any pillow. We plan them like furniture because they are.

Field Note Nº 3

Buy fewer, better, once.

Trade sources and custom workrooms cost less than three rounds of replacing the wrong thing.

Featured project

Tuscan outside. Something else entirely inside.

A live edge table under a cascade of pendants, leather seating against black marble, a library with a pressed tin ceiling. The furnishings carry the house.

How it works

Three phases. You approve each one.

  1. Phase Nº 1

    See it first.

A consultation to agree on scope and an ideal budget. Then the design plan at the level the project calls for: mood boards, drawings, and renderings where they earn their keep, plus selections, with two revision rounds. You approve a picture, not a promise.

  2. Phase Nº 2

    Touch it, then price it.

Every finish is confirmed in the showroom, in person, in daylight. You get one itemized proposal for design, product and installation. One number, no scavenger hunt.

  3. Phase Nº 3

    We put it in.

Trade accounts, lead times and a delivery plan set in advance. Our installation team sets the cabinetry, stone, fixtures and finishes, leaves it broom clean, and hands you the manufacturer warranties.
